A Preview of Things to Come 25 Jan 2008
There is alot of upcoming stuff here at Free Cake. I'll dive right into it.
Free Cake will be releasing a split 10" between Baltimore monsters Surroundings and New Jersey dweebs Pellinore. They are both currently supporting their debut 7"s, Surroundings with 'Monuments in Ruins' on Organized Crime, and Pellinore with 'Memento Mori' on Free Cake. If you haven't heard these bands, check them out.
Surroundings is in the vein of His Hero is Gone, Neurosis, Discharge and Integrity, while Pellinore sports a sound not unlike Citizen's Arrest, early Ringworm, Void and Siege.
Listen to Surroundings
Pick up 'Monuments in Ruins'
Listen to Pellinore
Pick up 'Memento Mori'
Prepare to be blown away by Black Sails. Free Cake is going to be putting out a CD for these guys, and it will guarantee to impress. These new faces from North Jersey and Pennsylvania have an intense sound and if you are lucky enough to see them live, they'll surely drop your jaw.
Black Sails has a large range of influences ranging from Converge, to Botch. For fans of The Hope Conspiracy, American Nightmare, and the like.
Listen to Black Sails
If you say you haven't heard of The Mongoloids you're lying. They're currently supporting their full length, Time Trails, that came out on Collapse or Riptide or Six Feet Under or something.
Free Cake will be carrying copies of their hard-to-find debut 7" on AVTrain records in the Free Cake Bakery in the very near future. The capabilities of purchasing this depended on where the Mongoloids were playing at the time of the release or how busy Aaron V and Train were. Soon you'll be able to get it easy as cake.
Listen to The Mongloids
Birth Scream's debut CD, Earth Tones is still available in the Free Cake Bakery as well. I highly recommend fans of Baroness and Kylesa to pick it up. It's a rager.
Listen to Birth Screams
Pick up 'Earth Tones'
As always, Pellinore crap is available in the Free Cake Bakery.
T-Shirts for $8, 7"s for $4, 2 7"s for $7, or a T-Shirt and 2 7"s for $12. Hop on that.
Buy Pellinore stuff
That's pretty much it. Pellinore has live recordings of 4 songs from their WERS session so expect to see those somewhere. 3 are from the Memento Mori 7" and 1 is a new one from the upcoming Surroundings split.
Bye.

Deck The Halls 06 Dec 2007

Ho ho ho.
Finally Updated 28 Nov 2007
I've finally gotten around to updating the site. For awhile the splash page went right to the Bakery because the content was so outdated, but now everything is up to date. I also made some slight layout changes to the site that improve it overall.
The largest update was made on the releases page, where the complete pressing info for the Pellinore 7" has been posted. Be sure to check it out. Some of the images are currently incomplete, but should be coming in soon enough.
Over in the Bakery, the full length CD from our friends in Birth Screams, Earth Tones, is now available. Be sure to pick it up. It's loud, heavy, and will make your cranium implode. In a good way.
As far as label news, things are currently pretty quiet. But there are some plans for the future. In the distant future, Free Cake will be aiding in the distribution of the demo from Ivory Tusk, a solid hardcore outfit out of Boston. Formerly named Self-Abuse, these ragers have been playing alot of local shows and are working on making a name for themselves. Be sure to keep an ear out. For now check out their myspace and spin their posted tracks.
There are also plans for another Pellinore record in the future. Details are currently fuzzy, but there are ideas swimming around. Keep your eyes peeled.
In the mean time, enjoy the site, head over to the Bakery and buy some Pellinore nick-nacks, and check out Dead Black.

A Couple Updates 29 Jun 2007
Alright, so the Pellinore record should have been out by now, but there was a problem at the plant so it's being delayed a couple weeks. Good thing I hate pre-orders, or there would be alot of cranky fellas out there.
Pellinore is booking a tour for the summer, not straying too far from home for not too long, but a tour none the less. Check out the website for information. (http://www.pellinore.net).
Buy stuff from the Bakery. I'll update as soon as I have the Pellinore records, or if anything else worthwhile surfaces. Adios.
